Eileen Ahearn, of the National Association of State Directors of Special Education, discusses how special education is handled by charter schools in a number of states. It was just one of the challenges addressed at the three-day symposium that was sponsored by NWREL and attended by more than 30 national leaders in the charter school movement.

Fairbanks, Alaska, played host to the Laboratory’s Board of Directors who gathered in late March for their annual strategic planning retreat.

The meeting coincided with the city’s annual Ice Art Festival.
