Research and Technical Assistance
California Network of Educational Charters— CANEC is a statewide nonprofit, non-partisan association that is committed to developing an essential linkage among charter participants and facilitating dialogue on charter schools necessary to ensure quality educational programs for all students.
Center for Education Reform— CER is a national, non-profit education advocacy group and an active broker in providing resources, support and guidance for school reform.
Center on Reinventing Public Education— The CRPE seeks to develop and evaluate methods of public oversight that can allow individual schools to be focused, effective, and accountable. It pursues a national program of research and development on such proposals as charter schools, school contracting, choice, and school system decentralization.
Charter Friends National Network— The Network's mission is to promote support activities through publications, conferences, online communications, a grant program, and multi-state initiatives on high priority issues including charter school accountability, facilities financing and special education.
Charter Schools Development Center— The Center provides technical assistance and resources to charter school developers, operators, and charter-granting agencies. Center staff and consultants have hands-on experience with a variety of school models, approaches to school change, and restructuring processes to create innovative new schools and to effectively reform existing ones.

National Charter School Clearinghouse— Their purposes are: To improve public charter schools' access to and understanding of federal and private funds; To provide technical assistance, mentoring and collaboration opportunities for public charter schools across the nation; To collect, catalog, summarize and disseminate research on issues relevant to public charter school operations to administrators, parents, and any other interested parties.
NEA Charter Schools Site— NEA provides an overview of the current issues and concerns about the charter school movement, including rigorous learning standards, decentralized and shared decision making, diverse educational offerings, the importance of charter school laws and the removal of onerous administrative requirements.
NCREL Timely Topics: Charter Schools— This site lists publications and articles, has links to other sites and hosts an on-line discussion group on the issue.
U.S. Charter Schools— The primary intended audience for this site are those people at the local level actually involved in creating, sponsoring and running charter schools.
