Early Childhood Parent Education
In Oregon, there are just over 50 Early Childhood Parent Education (ECPE) programs based on the Parents As Teachers (PAT) and Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youth (HIPPY) Models. HIPPY and PAT have been designated model programs by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice. Since one of the goals of the Oregon PIRC is to further the development and school-readiness of young children through parent education programs, some of our funds are set aside to support these programs.
