Fall Conference
The U.S. Department of Education's 1999 Western Regional Improving America's Schools Conference will be held November 8-10 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The annual conference on education reform brings together a host of participantsteachers, principals, parents, grant administrators, state and local education agency employees, and othersto network with Department officials, get program updates, and learn more about new initiatives, funding opportunities, comprehensive school reform, and other topics. Staff from NWREL were involved in planning the conference for the western region.
Through hands-on workshops, forums, and institutes, participants will learn more about coordinating federal programs, integrating federal programs with state and local efforts, accessing the Department's technical assistance network, and using available resources to implement comprehensive school reform. And Secretary of Education Richard Riley will discuss the Department's priorities and goals for the new millennium in his keynote address on Wednesday, November 10.
Conference fees are $240 for individuals, and $200 for those registering together in a group of four or more from the same agency.
