Toolkit98 Training Institute Set for February


A national trainer-of-trainers institute based on Improving Classroom Assessment: A Toolkit for Professional Developers (Toolkit98), the popular assessment resource developed by the network of regional educational laboratories, has been set for February 1999.

To be held in San Antonio, Texas, the institute will feature two and a half days of hands-on training hosted by seven of the

10 regional laboratories. The training sessions are designed for those who work with teachers to improve classroom assessment practices, including principals, professional developers, lead teachers, and college professors, among others. These professional staff developers will:

The 1,200-page Toolkit98 contains the most current approaches to integrating assessment and instruction to support teachers in improving student learning. Also included are 37 training activities and 48 sample assessments for different grade levels and subject areas.

More information on the training institute, including specific dates and hotel information, will be featured in the November-December issue of the Northwest Report. Registration is limited to 200 participants, and registration fees are $350 if received by December 20 and $375 if received after that date. The registration fee includes a copy of Toolkit98 and some meals.
