December 1998 Toolkit98 Training
A national trainer-of-trainers institute based on Improving Classroom Assessment: A Toolkit for Professional Developers (Toolkit98), the popular assessment resource developed by the network of regional educational laboratories, will be held February 1-3, 1999, in San Antonio, Texas.
The institute will feature two and a half days of hands-on training hosted by seven of the 10 regional laboratories. The training sessions are designed for those who work with teachers to improve classroom assessment practices, including principals, professional developers, lead teachers, and college professors, among others. These professional staff developers will:
- Explore classroom assessment topics ranging from basic assessment literacy to grading and reporting
- Learn how to use Toolkit98 as a training resource for assessment, and plan their own applications
- Gain experience in using a variety of interactive facilitation techniques
- Build collaborative networks
Registration is limited to 200 participants, and the registration fee is $320 if received by December 20 and $350 if received after that date. The registration fee includes a copy of Toolkit98, three breakfasts, and two lunches. For registration information, call Kathy Peterson at (503) 275-9574 or 1-800-547-6339, ext. 574.
The training institute will be held at the Radisson Hotel San Antonio. A block of rooms is being held for Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL) through December 31 at a rate of $89. For hotel reservations, call 1-800-333-3333.
