April 1997 What's New on NWREL's Web Site
The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory's Web site is bursting with practical information that educators can use in their daily work, both in classrooms and in administrative offices. Here's a look at the latest online offerings:
Reach Out for Equity. The Center for National Origin, Race, and Sex Equity home page has a new connection that takes you to the Midwest Desegregation Assistance Center at Kansas State University which then offers a link to all 10 DAC's nationwide. The new connection also offers access to the Midwest DAC database. Choose "Other Equity Sites" from CNORSE's home page.
TechnoTeacher. Teaching, learning, and technology are not separate endeavors, but it takes a whole new way of looking at the teaching and learning process to integrate them effectively. The winter issue of Circuit from the Northwest Educational Technology Consortium is now posted. It profiles the new ways, the new challenges, and the many rewards discovered by Lori Schaeffer, a sixth grade teacher in the Evergreen School District, Vancouver, Washington, as she ventures into what it means to integrate technology. Read her story through the "NETC Circuit" item at http://www.nwrel.org/newsletter.html.
