1Smaller Learning Communities (SLCs) grantee teams from high schools around the country attended a two-day workshop hosted by NWREL's Recreating High Schools unit. The workshop gives participants focused time to take stock of current practices, map out long-range directions for change, and plan for schoolwide improvements. Iris Tamayose and Michael Tokioka from Aiea, Hawaii, review their school's practices and plans for SLC reforms.
