Call for Proposals

Education Now " in the Future 2005—the region's most comprehensive professional development event for educators—is scheduled February 28–March 1, 2005, in Portland. The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory is now accepting proposals for conference sessions that address the theme "Proven and Practical Paths to Successful Learning."

According to Kate Fitzgibbon, one of the conference planners, the proposals should emphasize research-based best practices and offer practical applications with long-term sustainability. "We're looking for sessions that will engage the audience and share firsthand experiences by practitioners," says Fitzgibbon. She adds that the proposals should reflect the broad diversity and needs of ENF's audience: K–12 teachers and administrators who are looking for effective techniques.
