January-February 2004 | NW REPORT

Flashback

1, 2, 3, 4—Task 1 Meeting.

Partners in the Laboratory's national work on quality teaching met in Portland in December to plan for 2004 and discuss long-term efforts to sustain school improvement. One session focused on the No Child Left Behind Act and key factors in working with external facilitators. The group also examined evaluation data and reviewed its progress during the last three years. Representatives of partner site schools described their use of NWREL's online survey on school capacity for improvement (see article, Page 6). Participating in the panel were Stu Dodge of Mt. Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Washington (photo 2), Carol Clarke of Chief Kamiakin Intermediate School in Sunnyside, Washington (photo 3), and Erika Barrom, also of Chief Kamiakin (photo 4).
