Response to Intervention: Evaluating RTI Initiatives
A Symposium for SEA Leaders - June 4-5, 2008
Description
One important goal of NWRCC is to increase the capacity of each state education agency to build, support, and sustain an integrated response to intervention system that will improve student learning by coordinating efforts across general and special education. This event builds on previous NWRCC RTI symposia and focuses on evaluating RTI initiatives at the state, district, and school levels. The NWRCC will support teams of up to five members from each state to attend the symposium. The agenda will provide time for state teams to reflect upon and apply the content of the sessions to their context.
Expected Outcomes - SEA Leaders will:
- Explore critical elements of RTI evaluation
- Consider strategies for developing an RTI evaluation plan
- Examine ways to help districts and schools effectively evaluate RTI efforts
