The conversations we've had with education and funding experts around the region about their state's issues, concerns, and progress with online education were rich and revealing. Below, knowledgeable individuals from the Oregon Department of Education explained the nuances of funding structures and described the historical and political context in which online education is developing in their state. While we may have quoted them briefly in other articles in this issue of Northwest Education, we asked them if we could share their thoughts more fully in these edited transcripts.
