Funding Opportunity for Smaller Learning Communities Announced

High schools of 1,000 or more students may apply for funding from the Smaller Learning Communities Implementation Program. Approximately $88,323,000 has been earmarked for this year's awards. This competition will fund implementation grants to create or expand SLC structures and strategies in large public high schools. The deadline for applications is February 25, 2008.

Grants are available through the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. The notice inviting applications for new awards was announced on November 26 in the Federal Register at this URL:
