About the National Mentoring Center
The National Mentoring Center (NMC) has been serving youth mentoring programs of all types since 1999. Originally created by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the National Mentoring Center offers training, resources, and online information services to the entire mentoring field.
History
The NMC began as the training and technical assistance provider for the OJJDP-funded Juvenile Mentoring Program, which funded over 250 local mentoring programs to serve at-risk and adjudicated youth. The NMC's training events and resources found great success with both JUMP programs and the mentoring field as a whole. Over the years we have worked with other federal agencies, state mentoring partnerships, and a variety of local and regional clients. Now, the NMC stands as one of the premier training providers to youth mentoring programs across the country.
In addition to its primary workscope, the NMC has added a number of specific projects in recent years. The NMC now houses the LEARNS project, which provides training and technical assistance to mentoring projects supported by the Corporation for National and Community Service. The NMC also works in partnership with EMT Associates to manage the Mentoring Resource Center, which serves mentoring programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools. These specific projects showcase the NMC's ability to provide comprehensive services for large groups of clients.

Our Resources
The NMC has developed a comprehensive set of program development materials and curriculum that are available for use by any mentoring program. These materials are available for download in the publications section.
We also maintain a number of electronic resources for mentoring professionals, including MentorExchange, a practitioner listserv of over 1,600 mentoring leaders, and our Lending Library, which makes the latest in mentoring research and publications available to the general public.
