About this Site

This site was created by the LEARNS partners in collaboration with the Center for Children and Technology (CCT) and with funding provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service. LEARNS is a partnership of the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL) and the Bank Street College of Education (BSC). We provide training and technical assistance to Corporation for National and Community Service projects focused on literacy and education.

The Corporation for National and Community Service provides opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve their communities and country through three programs: Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America.

The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory has provided research, development, and training and technical assistance to schools and community-based agencies since 1966.

The Bank Street College of Education, founded in 1916, is a recognized leader in early childhood education, a pioneer in improving the quality of classroom teaching, and a national advocate for children and families.

EDC | Center for Children and Technology CCT investigates how technology can make a difference in children's classrooms, schools and communities. Originally founded in 1980 at Bank Street College, CCT joined the Education Development Center in 1993. CCT conducts basic, applied and formative research as well as designs and develops multimedia tools and technology prototypes.

Philosophy and Approach
