6+1 Trait® Writing Training of Trait Presenters (Portland, OR)

Overview
Prerequisite: Participation in NWREL’s 6+1 Trait® Writing Introductory Institute
This training of trainers’ institute is for literacy coaches, teacher leaders, administrators, and curriculum coordinators wishing to conduct their own in-district 6+1 Trait workshops.
- Day One activities will include a review of the 6+1 Trait Writing Model, instructional strategies, scoring practice, and an examination of a balanced literacy classroom
- Day Two will begin with a look at the logistics of goal-setting and monitoring growth in writing. We will quickly move on to practical classroom applications of lesson design and curriculum mapping.
- Day Three focuses on designing trait training workshops of varying duration and purpose. It will include time to begin planning your own presentation.
An Adult-Learning Strand will be modeled, discussed, and showcased throughout the three-day institute.
