Facilitator
Jan Littlebear, Senior Program Advisor in the Center for Research, Evaluation, and Assessment at Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory, provides training in the 6+1 Trait Writing Model of Instruction & Assessment. Jan involves everyone in gaining the content through humor, interactive strategies, and hands-on activities. She also assists with research in the teaching and assessment of writing. Jan relies upon research-supported best practices, and builds on 18 years of teaching elementary and secondary students using the 6+1 Trait model, tutoring students, and mentoring teachers. Jan has an M.S. in education with a focus on language and literacy, as well as a National Board Certification in Early Adolescence English & Language Arts.
