Roberta Young from Houston was an educator in Texas for 31 years, serving as a secondary English teacher and a district-level administrator. During her teaching years she was named Teacher of the Year for her school and district and Texas Language Arts Teacher of the Year. Since her retirement, she has served as a national Apple Consulting Educator, the Greater Houston Area regional director for The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program, presenter for NWREL 6+1 Trait® Writing, supervisor of Teacher Candidates at the University of Houston, and an independent consultant. In her private life she is a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
