Developing Mathematics Understanding in English Language Learners

This course integrates research-based best practices in mathematics instruction and SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol), a national model used to support high-quality instruction in academic content areas for ELL students. In addition to learning effective mathematics instructional practices and sheltered instruction strategies, this professional development experience helps increase participants' capacity to be reflective and collaborative practitioners.

This service can be customized for: Teachers, paraprofessionals, and principals who deliver mathematics content to ELL and migrant education students. Courses are tailored for specific grade clusters—K-2, 3-5, 6-8, or 9-12.
