ELL Program Review
An ELL program review provides a comprehensive look at the educational experience of English language learners in your school or district. The program review includes a site visit during which data are collected from a variety of sources including classroom observations in both general education and specialized ELL settings and interviews with ELL program staff, general education teachers, and building and district administrators. Additional data are collected through focus groups with students and parents as well as online survey responses from teachers, administrators, and ELL program staff.
Data are then analyzed using current research findings on effective practices for English language learners and reported to stakeholders. The review seeks to highlight the areas of strength as well as point out what might be done to improve the learning experience for ELL students. The findings and recommendations can be used in the development of a school improvement plan focused on the needs of ELL students.
