6+1 Trait® Writing for Trainers Workshop
This training of trainers' institute is for people wishing to conduct their own in-district 6+1 Trait workshops. All participants must be trained in the 6+1 Trait Writing Model of Instruction & Assessment, and its application in the classroom. (The 6+1 Trait Introductory Institute is a prerequisite to this advanced course.)
What Participants Will Learn
- Learn about adult learning strategies and how to incorporate them into professional development workshops
- Review the writing traits and strategies
- Examine research supporting the 6+1 Trait Writing Model of Instruction & Assessment
- Explore curriculum mapping and lesson design
- Develop a plan to provide traits information to families and community members
- Design a 6+1 Trait(R) Writing workshop for home, schools, and districts
Format
This two- or three-day workshop is tailored to meet individual school or district needs, and delivered at the location of your choice.
