| Teens Working: Turning Earning into Learning
A toolkit loaded with activities, Teens Working: Turning Earning into Learning is designed to show young people the connection between what they do at work and what they learn at school. Most young people hold jobs at least part of the time during their school years, and the Teens Working toolkit provides a set of challenging yet fun activities to help teens succeed both in the classroom and the workplace. Problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and learning about various phases of the world of work form the nucleus of Teens Working activities. The toolkit includes guides for facilitators, students, and parents, as well as a separately bound volume called "Critical Workplace Issues." In addition, Teens Working comes with a set of camera-ready originals consisting of unbound copies of the student pages, parent guide, "Question box" materials, and "Wheel of Careers" game template for teachers and program leaders to photocopy. |
Everyone's Guide to Successful Project Planning: Tools for Youth
Youth-driven community projects are popping up everywhere--from community-based service programs to project-based learning in classrooms. Everyone's Guide to Successful Project Planning: Tools for Youth is a new resource to guide young people through the many stages of project planning and to tie what young people are learning through projects back to academics. Aimed toward young people both on the inside and outside of the traditional school system, this resource is designed to work as a "tool chest", from which facilitators and young people can pick and choose based on program and project needs. The Facilitator Guide provides hints and strategies for how to help young people get started on a project, how to tailor the tools to their needs once the project is underway, and how to guide youth in documenting and reflecting upon their projects. |
