Research & Evaluation

The ultimate success of programs is reflected in their ability to make progress toward their goals, as well as their impact on those it serves. Evaluation is a critical step in the successful demonstration of the progress and impact. ECC's evaluations are guided by the notion that program evaluation is a process done with rather than to the stakeholders of a program. A successful evaluation must meet the needs of the various stakeholders. For this reason, we include key stakeholders from each program in the process, and our clients are involved in reviewing instruments and documents throughout the course of the evaluation. We use a multiple-measure approach that is customized to meet the client's needs—methods may include survey research, focus groups, observations, and analysis of pre-existing data (e.g., student attendance, grades, etc.).

ECC program staff can help you:

  • Understand how to apply "successful practices" research to your program goals
  • Learn how to ask the right questions to evaluate student, staff, and program progress
  • Compile data-based grant reporting requirements
  • Collect and analyze data for decision makers who want to identify effective policies and practices
  • Discover underlying issues that may be impacting your program negatively
  • Explore trends, demographics, and research for the future—capacity-building evaluation allows you to shape your organization and leverage resources for continuous improvement
