The Core & More framework focuses on three high-impact areas that help schools and districts make significant and systemic improvements.
District Support for School Improvement
We offer trainings for district leadership teams in shifting district practices to support transformation. These practices include change leadership, resource allocation, accountability systems, and strategic professional development.
SLC Design and Implementation
We offer trainings for school and district leadership teams in moving school practices closer to SLC best practices. Guiding our work in this area is the highly respected publication Small Learning Communities: Implementing and Deepening Practice by Core & More team member Diana Oxley.
These trainings focus on helping schoolwide leadership teams:
- Develop change leadership skills
- Shift schoolwide practices to support SLCs
- Create a professional development plan
- Support interdisciplinary teams to develop rigorous and relevant curriculum and instruction, inclusive programs and practices, and practice continuous program improvement
Instructional Program Coherence
Teaching teams must work together to provide a rigorous and relevant instructional program, aligned with standards, that allows students to master challenging proficiencies. School and SLC leadership can benefit from trainings that assist you in building and supporting a rigorous and coherent SLC program through instructional practices.
