Indian Education
With the passage of the Indian Education Act of 1972, Indian education programs across the nation were commissioned to assist public schools to address problems of low achievement and high dropout rates among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) students. Since that time, Title IX educators have established many high-quality programs that provide eligible students with tutoring, counseling, cultural enrichment, and other services designed to meet the "culturally related academic needs" of American Indian and Alaska Native students. from A New Path: Strategies and Methods for Title IX Programs Operating Under the Improving America's Schools Act of 1994Recommended and Popular NWREL Resources
