Governance
John Pugh, Chairperson, NWREL Board of DirectorsNWREL is a private, nonprofit corporation governed by a 29-member Board of Directors representing constituent groups in the Northwest. The Board is composed of:
- The Chief State School Officers, or their representatives, of the five Northwest states
- A local school district superintendent from each Northwest state elected by NWREL member institutions
- Nineteen appointed representatives of classroom teachers, building principals, private schools, local school boards, higher education (including researchers), parents, and business and industry
