Four out of five Northwest educators are familiar with NWREL work, with many having participated in NWREL activities, requested technical assistance, and used NWREL resources.
Use: District superintendents, building principals, and teachers all have used NWREL products and services extensively:
- 76 percent of superintendents, 73 percent of principals, and 23 percent of teachers have used NWREL materials
- 36 percent of superintendents, 32 percent of principals, and 8 percent of teachers have requested research and proven practices
- 18 percent of superintendents, 15 percent of principals, and 7 percent of teachers have received technical assistance
- 31 percent of superintendents, 25 percent of principals, and 8 percent of teachers have accessed information and resources on NWREL’s Web site
Quality: Educators are very pleased with the services NWREL provides them. Ninety-four percent of NWREL activities have earned a "good" or higher rating from clients. "Excellent" ratings were:
- 81 percent for overall products/ services
- 84 percent for timeliness
- 81 percent for planning
- 81 percent for presentation
- 74 percent for meeting a client’s needs
At least seven of 10 clients in each of four groups—state education agencies, local education agencies, federal education agencies, and others—rated NWREL services as "excellent."
Impact: Clients say NWREL services are having a substantial impact on their knowledge, skills, decisionmaking, and practice and, most important, on student performance. The following percentage of clients reported these types of results:
- 75 percent acquired new skills and knowledge
- 68 percent were assisted in decisionmaking and planning
- 40 percent implemented changes in professional practices
- 47 percent improved the quality of professional practices
- 30 percent affected student performance positively
