Activities and Accomplishments
NWREL conducted 3,092 activities in 1998 to provide educators, policymakers, and the public with information, materials, knowledge, and skills to improve the results of education.

More than 60,000 people benefited directly from NWREL activities in 1998. They included 19,743 participants in conferences, workshops, and consultations conducted by NWREL; 44,467 people who requested and received copies of NWREL products and publications, and 433 who received information they requested on specific topics and issues they were dealing with.

Information was provided through 556 issues of newsletters and other large-scale mailings of information, 124 staff presentations at conferences and meetings, and 62 articles in magazines, journals, and other publications. Resource materials were provided through the development of 124 products and publications. Knowledge and skills were increased through training and technical assistance activities delivered through 62 NWREL conferences and 1,299 workshops and consultation sessions.

In addition, there were 1.7 million accesses to NWREL's Web site on the Internet, and a quarter million copies of newsletters and other informational materials and publications were disseminated.
