The integration of education and human services is increasingly seen as the key to strengthening families. This publication describes how integration develops, discusses elements of success, and profiles four instances of school-linked integration. Integration is more than the sum of individual agency efforts, and six elements of successful integration efforts are identified:

	Family-centered service delivery
	Comprehensive service focus
	Prevention orientation
	Empowerment focus
	Local community focus
	Synergistic procedures and policies
