The mission of the Child and Family Program is to help ensure educators, human service providers, and family members have the knowledge, skills, and resources to meet the increasingly complex needs of children and families at all developmental stages of life.

Project ExCEL: Building Language for Literacy Plus
 | Provides systematic, intensive, and on-going training to the staff of full-day classrooms of five high-quality Head Start programs (13 classrooms at 11 sites) in Oregon. |
Full-Day Kindergarten: Research, Practice, and Planning
 | Research documents the benefits of full-day versus half-day kindergarten in preparing students for later elementary years, especially for students at risk of school failure. |
Classroom to Community and Back
 | Provides strategies to actively engage students (especially those who are typically disengaged) by tapping into their family, community, and youth culture. |
School-Family-Community Partnerships
 | Promoting child and youth success by working with schools to build culturally responsive partnerships with families and communities. |
Early Connections
 | Learn what technology can - and can't - do in the education of young children. |
